Product Info

The Professor Pyraminx is made from a high quality black ABS plastic body. The idea of this puzzle is to scramble all 4 faces and then return is so that each side only has one color on it. This puzzle is extra challenging because not only is it made 5 layers deep, but each edge consists of 9 pieces side by side. The Professor Pyraminx was designed by Timur Evbatyrov who was born in Russia, and now lives in Germany developing fiber lasers. His interest in designing puzzles started in 2010 and he has now designed over 20 rotational puzzles. The Professor Pyraminx is manufactured by Meffert’s Rotational Puzzles and came out on the 40th anniversary year of when Uwe Meffert first designed the original Pyraminx. Uwe Meffert, born in Wernigerode, Germany, not only manufactures the puzzles, but has designed many of his own puzzles as well.

I received the same cube as seen on the pic. I am a speed cuber and expert in magic cubes of all kinds. I was happy YET from the first play THE stickers start to shade and colors fade put... like some white spots start to show up.... Today after, maybe touching it for the 7th time, it was broken... My moves are gentle and at ease YET Pieces felt apart... The axis holding one of the faces have been loosed and I cant tighten it at all. The top cap piece Unlike other models CAN'T be separated from its body.... So am locked with a broken professor pyraminx. what shall i do? If i bought it on ebay THEN there is a guarantee of returning item or refund, BUT here at puzzlemaster I don't see any support....!!!!

This puzzle turns excellently (every layer of it) and it's an excellent update on the classic Pyraminx. The tips are a bit hard to turn - that's because the part below them can slide up and down on the core's arm, so when the puzzle is fully assembled all the parts are pushing the two pieces together, creating friction. But don't worry - you only need to turn them 4 times per solve anyway. It's got a good shape to hold in your hand, and it's a really great puzzle to bring on a trip: solving it doesn't feel repetitive at all, and it doesn't have any of the "parity" situations seen on its cubic cousin (the 5x5x5 Professor Cube). If you like this puzzle, you'll probably also enjoy the Vulcano, since it's another Pyraminx family member.

Pretty much everything about this puzzle is perfect. The stickers and plastic are high quality and it turns really smoothly :D. The only ''flaw'' is, on my puzzle one of the tips wont turn at all, it's like it's glued on there :/ . I'm still giving it 5 Stars because that ''flaw'' is probably only on my puzzle.
